Marquis Leisure Expand

Marquis the UK’s largest dealer network has expanded its network again by the acquisition of Martins of Exeter situated on a prime 4-acre site with easy access to the M5 at Junction 30.

Giles Dunning, partner and head of corporate at Stephens Scown LLP said:

“We were delighted to act for the vendor in the sale of this long established Exeter based business. Martins of Exeter has an excellent reputation in the caravan and motorhome sector and we look forward to seeing it move into a successful new chapter under new ownership.”

Mike Crouch MD for Marquis commented

“it is a great pleasure that we welcome the opportunity to acquire such an iconic name in the caravan and motorhome industry. With nearly one hundred years’ experience in supplying caravans and latterly motorhomes to the South West, Marquis Exeter is a super fit into our portfolio. Their customer service and reputation is second to none, and with an Approved Workshop under the NCC banner means they can cater for a vast range of service and repair work.”

Marquis Exeter, as the new site will be known, was officially opened on the 28th January 2020 and it will be business as usual for their loyal and new customers alike.

The new business will benefit by having a vast display of new motorhomes from the Trigano Group, including iconic models from Auto-Sleeper, together with the award-winning ranges from Benimar, including Mileo, Tessoro, Primero and Benivan, and Mobilvetta.

Also making their debut on the Sandygate site over the coming months will be models from the industry leading exclusive and award-winning Majestic range of coachbuilt motorhomes.

A Grand Opening will take place in the near future so don’t miss out and check the Marquis website for more details

Geoff Scott, CEO of the Auto-Sleepers Group comments

“once again being part of the Trigano Group has given Marquis the opportunity to expand its business, especially in such a key holiday destination. Marquis Exeter again represents another significant and sound financial investment for the group, and further consolidation of Marquis’s reputation as the market leader in the UK.”
